My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I want to take this opportunity during these early weeks of the Year 2021 to thank all of you for the support you have given me as your pastor. I also wish to thank you for your daily prayers.I am sure we are all grateful to God for the many blessings and the love He has showered on us.
The devastating impact the Covid-19 disease has on us may tempt us to surrender ourselves to despair and doubt...We may also ask questions like, “Where is the God that we serve?” “Has He forgotten us?”
My simple answer is that from generations, God has always been with the human race. He has always been in our lives and will forever be with us. St. Paul in Romans 8:35-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from His love. Not even suffering or death. Isaiah 54:10 also confirms this. We read, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord who has compassion on you.”
God will not abandon the work of His hand.Let us remember that the power and authority of God are greater than the trials we face today. My hope is that in our own very little ways, let us remain steadfast in placing our trust in Him and surrender our lives into His precious hands.
Finally, let us keep our faith in Him alive. For God is good all the time. All the time God is good. May God continue to bless you throughout the year.
Blessings,
Fr. Edmund Akordor
