This year will combine at-home chapter lessons along with a series of in-person meetings in the church.
We will meet at least once a month, occasionally more. While the majority of the meetings will include grades 1 - 9, some presentations will break up the age groups to offer a more age-appropriate lesson
on separate Mondays. Please view or download you child’s class calendar found HERE.
IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE ENTERING GRADE 1 - 8
There will be NO online testing for grades 1 - 8. Students are responsible for taking the end of chapter test for each chapter they area assigned. Those tests will be submitted to the teacher at the next in-person meeting.
**Important Note: Please pay close attention to the lesson calendar for EACH grade. There may be slight differences between the assigned chapters for children in different grades.
IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE ENTERING GRADE 9:
Our 9th grade curriculum is video based and can only be offered in a classroom setting or online. Students will still meet for our monthly in-person meetings, but they will do the lessons though the online Chosen platform. Visit the 9th Grade Class Page
**Important Completion Notice Students will be using Ascension's Chosen online platform. A certificate will be generated when the student has completed of the program. Students must watch all videos in each lesson and complete the assessments at the end of each video to receive the certificate. **The certificate must be presented to Nina LaRosa, CRE, at the end of the school year to eligible for promotion to the 10th grade.**
IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE ENTERING 10th GRADE CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
Sunday Evening Class: This year we are moving our 10th grade class to Sunday nights to create a more cohesive Confirmation program.
CYO Ministry: In addition, 10th grade students are required to participate in the CYO which is also held on Sundays (once or twice per month).
We are excited that Missy Rome, our 10th grade catechist, is also our new CYO director. We feel this presents a unique opportunity integrate Mass, study, and ministry and will better prepare students to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through Confirmation.
IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE ENTERING 11th GRADE CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
Our first Confirmation Class for 11th grade students will begin August 14th following 10 am Mass. One parent or guardian is required to attend with the student.
