Prayers for the Family:
The following will my family's prayer for next few weeks:
Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are,
will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will carry you in His arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same understanding Father who cares for
you today will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering
or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace,
and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.
Amen.
We bless your name, O Lord,
for sending your own incarnate Son,
to become part of a family,
so that, as he lived its life,
he would experience its worries and its joys.
We ask you, Lord,
to protect and watch over this family,
so that in the strength of your grace
its members may enjoy prosperity,
possess the priceless gift of your peace,
and, as the Church alive in the home,
bear witness in this world to your glory.
We ask this thought Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Family Prayers of Healing
If your family has been togther as much as mine, quarrels are pretty common. The following prayers will help us all to come together in unity.
God, Our Father, loving and merciful, bring together and keep all families in perfect unity of love and mutual support.
Instill in each member the spirit of understanding and affection for each other.
Keep quarrels and bitterness far from them, and for their occasional failures instill forgiveness and peace.
May the mutual love and affection of parents set a good example.
Instill in children self-respect that they may respect others and grow in mature independence.
May the mutual affection and respect of families be a sign of Christian life here and hereafter, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
Give us new eyes, Lord, to see our lives in the light of your love.
Too often our fear, neediness, anger, or hurt fog our vision.
Help us to see your providence in the glory of trees, lakes, and cloudless skies.
Help us to see your generosity in the many gifts we enjoy each day.
Help us to see your wisdom in the rhythm of the days, the weeks, the seasons, and the years.
Help us to see your image in the faces of everyone we meet and to know your goodness in the joy and love we feel for one another.
We ask you this because we know you love us.
Amen.
