In this chapter, the children will learn more about the Church and the ways in which the Church teaches us.

• The Church continues to teach the true message of Jesus

Family Activity:  Stewardship
As the children learn about their responsibilities as the people of God, help them to think of ways that they can care for one another and the earth. If possible, alert children to community activities for which they might volunteer. There may even be an opportunity to volunteer as a class for a project in the community, such as raising money for a parish project or giving their time to an environmental project.

Family Activity:  A Prayer Treat
Downloadable Activity Sheet
Read "A Prayer Treat." Then work together to write your own prayers. Share your prayers with the your family, holding their arms as shown.

After prayer, share a pretzel treat. You may wish to share commercially prepared pretzels, or have the children make their own. There are many recipes on the Internet.
